The effect of reduced iron powder particle shape on bulk density.

1. What is bulk density? 

The density of powders is also known as the density of powders.
It is the accumulated density measured after the powder is freely filled with standard containers under prescribed conditions, i.e., the mass of the unit volume when the powder is loosely packed, expressed as g/cm3.
The size of the pine ratio has a significant effect on the quality of the iron powder that can be filled in the unit volume.
The reducer iron powder is mainly divided into the lower pine ratio and the high pine ratio iron powder.
Among them, the low pine ratio is generally 2.0g/cm3, and the high pine ratio iron powder is generally 2.7g/cm3.
Other iron powder used for core or filling, the density can be 3.5~4.2g/cm3.


2. The influence of iron powder particle shape on loose packing density.

In addition to the density of the material, the density of powder is largely related to the shape surface state of powder particles.
The powder with irregular shape is less dense than the powder of the shape rule.
The more irregular the shape of the powder, the lower the density.
The main reason is: because the more irregular the powder particles, the larger the ratio of the particles, the greater the friction force between particles, so the density of the pine is low;
Similarly, the smaller the powder particle is, the larger the particle size is, so the smaller the density of the powder is lower.
For example, when the particle size range is 0.18 ~ 0.90mm, the stainless steel powder with irregular shape has the lowest density, which is 1.50g /cm3;
Spherical stainless steel powder has a density of 4.19g /cm3.


3. Iron powder with loose packing density greater than 3.0g/cm3.

In actual production, reducing iron powder of medium and low loose packing density, its powder particle shape is irregular;
In order to produce iron powder with a density greater than 3.0g/cm3, it can be used to make the particles of irregularly shaped iron powder to be spherical by lengthening the grinding time.
